Since September 2001, the BIBH has received legal advice and services on a pro bono basis from one of Asia Pacific's largest law firms, Allens Arthur Robinson (AAR). This came about after we wrote to several law firms outlining the history and development of the Buteyko Method in Australia, the aims of the BIBH to make the method the first line management system for asthma, and the legal issues which required expert advice. We are delighted to be included with AAR's other pro bono clients, and our experience in working with them makes it easy to understand why they are an award winner in the field of pro bono legal work. They are assisting us with a number of important projects. Their expertise and professionalism resulted in a significant milestone in 2002 with the BIBH endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as an Income Tax Exempt Charitable Entity and also as a Deductible Gift Recipient.
