Roger Price of Buteyko Applied Breathing Centres is a qualified pharmacist and physiologist and accredited Buteyko Practitioner. Roger is accepted by the Buteyko Institute of Breathing and Health as an approved practitioner trainer.

Work and Research:
Roger started his career as a pharmacist in 1955 and went on to many years of additional study and experience in the fields of pharmacology, physiology, forensic toxicology, homeopathic and naturopathic medicine manufacture. Roger qualified as a Buteyko Practitioner in 2000 and has been involved fulltime since then. He founded Applied Breathing Centres which operates Buteyko clinics throughout NSW and Queensland. Roger has presented hundreds of lectures on the Buteyko Method in Australia and overseas to the public, nursing groups, health professionals, dentists, orthodontists, teachers, and to health and community groups. He has been interviewed extensively for radio, television and print media throughout Australia and is becoming an increasingly sought after speaker on both the local and overseas circuits. Roger is a published author and is co-writing the revised edition of the best selling book “Every Breath You Take” with Dr Paul Ameisen.

Professional Aims:
Roger is committed to improving overall health by promoting the concept of better breathing. He is also involved in furthering research into the Buteyko Method. As a past Executive Secretary of the Buteyko Institute of Breathing and Health , Roger aims to promote professional research, development and training in the Buteyko Method of Breathing Reconditioning and to promote the Buteyko Method worldwide.

Training as a Buteyko Practitioner:
Applied Breathing Centres is now run by a partnership between Roger Price and Karen Stewart. The reason for this is the realization that teaching skills and follow-up are an essential part of ensuring the success of the Buteyko program. Karen is a qualified teacher of many years experience as well as having a Masters degree in educational counselling. She is nearing the end of her training as a Buteyko Practitioner. The combination of both sets of knowledge, skills and experience is the major reason for the high level of commitment and success rate amongst clients.
New practitioner trainees will benefit from the dual approach to teaching the Buteyko Institute Method where a professional teaching component accompanies Roger’s many years of clinical and pharmacological experience. His additional experience as a Buteyko practitioner rounds off the entire program and provides a holistic approach to the issue of dysfunctional breathing.
Due to many years of experience in retail pharmacy as well as other businesses, Roger is well qualified to teach the business and marketing skills required to ensure a successful career in Buteyko.

The fact that Applied Breathing Centres operates in multiple locations throughout NSW and Queensland, training is available in Sydney and Brisbane as well as during country tours. This provides greater flexibility and opportunities for trainees.
In addition to asthma, the trainee will gain wide experience in the management of other conditions such as snoring, sleep apnea, eczema, high blood pressure, emphysema, allergies, panic and anxiety attacks, hayfever, allergic rhinitis, disordered breathing, waking up during the night, improvement in general health and enhancement of sports performance.

Buteyko Courses are held at different times for adults and children, day time and early evening sessions are available. An advanced sports program for sports performance enhancement is available which includes individual instruction at the track/field/pool. Referrals now come from an ever increasing number of satisfied clients, general practitioners, specialist physicians, dentists, orthodontists, teachers, psychologists, chiropractors, podiatrists and the information generated by the media and the websites.

Practitioner Training Courses are offered by Roger in both Queensland and New South Wales.
